Dr. McClain has been in the ministry in the African Methodist Episcopal Church for forty (40) years, since 1971 at Alexander Memorial Church in Atlanta, GA. He has served in many capacities of the church, such as being one of the youngest Presiding Elders of 72 churches.
Dr. McClain holds a Bachelor of Theology, a Master of Religious Education and a Doctorate of Religious Education.
He served as Dean of the Selma University Extension School of Religion in Cuthbert, GA; served on the CUS Committee of the National Council of Churches of Christ USA; Founder and President of Emmanuel Bible College, Macon, Georgia; served on the General Board of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Dr. McClain is both a writer & publisher. He is the author of Sparks of the Divine Fire, No Middle Ground, Wrestling with God’s Power; Inspiring Sermons from the Pulpit Vols. I-VII, Speeches, Sermons and Addresses to African Americans; and other Bible Study material such as The Power of Prayer (12-16 weeks of study): Christian Maturity, and The Covenant God.
Rev. McClain is a Civic Leader. He has been a long time worker of the community; chair of the education committee for several local chapters; leader of task force groups for many local civil rights organizations; youth advocate who has worked with various youth groups; a lecturer throughout the USA on “How to Motivate Youth to Set Goals and Achieve Them.” He is currently serving as Chaplin for the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
Rev. McClain has been instrumental in establishing churches and schools of religion both locally and abroad, He is currently pasturing St. Paul Church in Macon, Georgia.
He is married to Linda, and they have two sons, Christopher and Gavriel and two daughters, Tiffani and Shanae.
